Some incentives are monthly trophies, donuts with the deputy, and a grade-level pizza party for the grade with the best attendance at the school that wins the district-wide best attendance award.

π Please give a round of apple-ause to our wonderful APS Student Nutrition team! π
The APS Student Nutrition team was awarded $45,610 for the New Mexico Grown program for the 2024-25 school year. Last week, one of our local farms, Nichols Ranch and Orchards, delivered fresh Fiji apples to Alamogordo High School to be distributed to the rest of the schools. The apples π went from their farm to our schools in less than 24 hours, and boy, were they delicious. π€€
πSierra Elementary kitchen manager Kim Maynez mentioned that receiving local, freshly picked fruit with a better taste was great. The kids thought it was fantastic that the apples came from a farm they could recognize. With this grant, the APS Student Nutrition Department plans to purchase New Mexico beef and other fruits and vegetables from across the state. π₯¦

APS and your School Board are committed to aligning school programs with our world, thereby developing learners who will become engaged and productive citizens. We have partnered with Learner-Centered Collaborative (LCC), to support the design of a Framework for the Future and Strategic Plan. Once we know what we aspire to, we can create a 3-5 year strategic plan to ensure we can accomplish what we have defined as essential.
